With the support of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, the City Orchestra performs with unique samples of pop and jazz genres of contemporary polyphonic music as well as a whole year-long concert program.
The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra was established to contribute to the promotion of polyphonic musical works in universal values, to introduce the polyphonic works of Turkish composers both at national and abroad, to perform at concerts and to reach wide masses.
The orchestra has performed successful concert performances in many cities; , participating in Greece in 2003, 2007 and 2010, Bulgaria Pazardzhik in 2005, Seoul in South Korea in 2007 and Bansko Jazz Festival in Bulgaria in 2011.
The orchestra has two albums called "Folk Jazz" and "Deep Roots Turks" composed of Ankara melodies. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra continues to work with its 31 people cadres under the leadership of Chef Kemal GÜNÜÇ.
