Turkey's first female jazz pianist Nilüfer Verdi, while telling us the immensity of us jazz, freedom, addressing its exploring nature, offers a chance to listen to her original arrangements. Nilüfer Verdi will share with us both the performer and the composer side of her with this repertoire of interpreting his jazz standards and her own compositions to make a pleasant evening for us. We thank Samm's Bistro for their contribution to the concert.

İstanbul born Nilufer Verdi comes from a family who were interested in music; his father Nejat Verdi's percussion instruments, his elder brother Murat Verdi's drums, and private piano lessons in a family environment. After her high school years, she continued her music education with piano, harmony, arrangement and composition lessons from major teachers such as Jack Reilly in New York, and in Berklee College of Music she worked with Ray Santisi, Bob Winter and Billy Pierce in Boston.

Her first album, Mânâ, was published in 1997. Nilufer Verdi and Ariel Hoenîg (drums), John Ormond (bass) and Neşet Ruacan (guitar) were on the album. Seven pieces of this album, composed of nine instrumental pieces recorded acoustically, are signed by Nilüfer Verdi.
