Karsu Play Atlantic Records “The Story of Ahmet Ertegün”

Karsu is a young Turkish musician born in Holland. Her documentary is being filmed; she performs at concerts on the best stages all around the world and her album remains in the top lists of Netherlands for a long time. We welcomed her at the 16th International Ankara Jazz Festival for the first time, after the huge interest and her new project; she is meeting with the fans on the festival scene. We would like to thank Turmaks for their contribution in the performance of this concert.

Ahmet Ertegün is the creator of the passionate period of 'black music'. Ertegün, whose father was an ambassador, was one of the first Turkish people in America. From the day he founded Atlantic Records in 1947, he discovered the talents that would guide the music understanding of the world. Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, The Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Cher. Karsu will tell the journey of Ertegün by music; Turkish tastes and today's jazz tunes will bring life back to the most exclusive artifacts.

Karsu, who won the Jazzism Edison Audience Award in 2016, performed in the most respected stages of the world. She grew up in Holland and learned Turkish music and values there. The artist, who started the connection with the piano in classical music, soon began to direct jazz, pop and Turkish music. The dynamic trumpet in the group, rhythmic drum and atmosphere contrabass will give you an example of success which brings the founder of Atlantic Records to the story of Ahmet Ertegün.
