The first female jazz pianist of Turkey, Nilufer Verdi gives us the chance of listening to her original arrangements while discovering the endless, free, madcap nature of Jazz. With her cheery repertoire in which she has jazz standards, and her own compositions, she is going to share both her composer and maestroic ways with us.

NILUFER VERDI BIOGRAPHY

Born in İstanbul, Nilüfer Verdi had grown up in a musician family in which her father Murat Verdi played drums, and her brother Nejat Verdi played percussion. After she had taken piano lessons, she continued her musical education in New York New School and Boston, Berklee College of Music after her high school years. She played with various musicians in and out of Turkey. Her first album "Mana" was released in 1997. In this album Verdi played with Ariel Hoenig (drums), Jonh Ormand (bass), and Neşet Ruacan (guitars). The album was recorded acoustic, and includes nine instrumental songs, and seven of them are Verdi's composition. Nilüfer Verdi, who also has been appreciated in not only Turkey but in Canada too, released her second album "İzhar" in 2007.
