Pink Martini fishes out from dusty shelves in each of their albums the most delighting songs from samurai love songs to Cuban music of the 1930s, from French chansons to Brazilian street songs. The orchestra is going to take stage this time for the 17th International Ankara Jazz Festival with the fascinating vocal of China Forbes and the world premier of their brand new songs. We appreciate the cooperation of PasionTurca.

Pink Martini was established by Thomas M. Lauderdale, a pianist and a Harvard graduate, in 1994 in Portland. It started its journey as an orchestra that had a political attitude and took stage at the events of civil society organizations aiming public aid and consciousness-raising. China Forbes, Harvard classmate of Lauderdale, joined the band in 1995. Pink Martini continues to present songs of various cultures in various languages to the world from the first day it was founded and take stage with world famous symphony orchestras. Lauderdale describes themselves as 'Music archaeologists that get melodies and rhythms from different corners of the world and present them in a modern form'.

The album Get Happy, released in 2013 is composed of songs in English, German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Moroccan, Turkish and Romanian, all selected and arranged by Lauderdale. Besides the unforgettable songs like 'Quizas Quizas Quizas', 'Sway', and 'Smile, the band included the song 'Üsküdar' to Get Happy album as a surprise to their Turkish audience.
