Pınar Dönmez describes her music as 'world music that shelters elements of jazz'. Her album 'Hayata Evet' composed of her own compositions and arrangements of Turkish folk music just fits in to this definition. At her festival concert, Dönmez is going to sing romantic jazz songs besides songs from her album. We appreciate the support of Samm's Bistro.

Having graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory guitar department Pınar Dönmez, took two years of vocal jazz education in Amsterdam Conservatory and then graduated from ArtEZ School of Music, Department of Jazz and Pop. During her university years, she gave concerts with her a capella group 'Fortress' in the Netherlands and Istanbul. Her interest in folk music of various cultures and longing for her own culture led her write songs in her mother language. Hayata Evet, the debut album of Pınar Dönmez released in November 2013, continues to meet Turkish audience and receive appreciation.

At this concert, which she is going to sing popular jazz songs besides the songs from her album, Pınar Dönmez is going to take stage with her group composed of Dutch musicians.
