This year International Ankara Jazz Festival has a sister festival from Italy; Venice Jazz Festival by Veneto Jazz. Well known name of Italian jazz Francesco Diodati-NEKO will be on stage with his inspiring improvisations and extraordinary tunes.. We appreciate the support of Italian Institute of Culture in Ankara.
NEKO, formed in 2007 under the leadership of Francesco Diodati, made its debut in 2008 with the musicians Francesco Bigoni, Francesco Ponticelli and Ermanno Baron, and since then NEKO is touring worldwide. In 2009 he was awarded at the Veneto Jazz Summer Workshop with one of the highest scholarship ever to be given to a guitarist to attend prestigious New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, where he meets Reggie Workman, Ben Allison, Peter Bernstein, Rachel Z, Rory Stuart and many others. In 2010 the group releases a first album, Purple Bra, published by Auand Records, amongst the most important European labels for contemporary jazz.
